Stargazing at the Chabot Space & Science Center

As I mentioned in class, you are also able to visit the one of the Chabot Space & Science Center's stargazing parties to fulfill one of your observing projects (remember, you must do 2 observing projects). This is instead of visiting a Lawrence Hall of Science star party. These are available every Friday and Saturday night from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm, so there are plenty of opportunities to attend. Have fun viewing some stars and other objects and then complete a two page summary (double-spaced) of what you saw for your project. Make sure you check ahead that the weather will be good, because sometimes the star parties are canceled. Click this weather site, to see the weather forecast at the observatory.

Also, you may be interested to know that this Saturday's telescope viewing at the Chabot Center will be extra special because it will be preceded by a lecture all about the Allen Telescope Array at 7:30 pm. Telescope viewing will take place afterwards. Check out the East Bay Astronomical Society's website for more information.
